I realize they're not in a power 5, but Memphis just had an outbreak on their football team and have "suspended all football activities."

As @moxie can attest, we've been dealing with the smoke on and off for a few weeks ... from at least Big Sur all the way up to Wine Country (and maybe further south and north than that, but I don't know).
Today, for the first time since the sky went orange a few days back, I can't see the sun, but at least I can tell where it is in the sky, 'cause it's coming through just enough a part of the sky seems a little brighter.
We're supposed to maybe get some winds starting I think tomorrow night that may help clear some of it out. *fingers crossed*

We just moved to Temecula (up from San Diego). The air seems fine, but I do notice each morning a light coating of ash on my truck. I figure if it’s getting on the truck, good chance it’s getting in the lungs too 😏

Getting that there smoke air up here now on Vancouver Island. The smoke makes me gag a bit, due to lack of a thyroid. I gotta stay inside for the most part.

Yeah, if ash if showing up on things it's a pretty safe bet the air isn't great.
I'd heard of Temecula, but didn't know where in California it was.
You're pretty far down south.
I don't know much about the fires in SoCal ... I've been focused on the ones up here.
I hope it doesn't get too bad for you.
