Indirectly? Yiss.

If they would have fell in line like the big10 thought they would then none of them including the big10 would be playing. They didn't and the big10 got caught with their dicks in their hand. They would have reversed that decision the day after everyone else announced they were going to play if it wouldn't have made them look retarded lol

The other leagues playing gave traction to the law suits and potential class action lawsuit (players and families being able to say they were put at a disadvantage to players in other leagues). What ultimately would have done in the B1G was violating their own bylaws.

Do you think they really still didn't want to play at that point though? Do you think if the others would have announced that they were definitely playing one way or another before the big10 announcement that the big 10 would have still announced to cancel? I don't.

I really don't know. That's so much money to be lost that I'm not sure what their complete motivation was to cancel. Part of me thinks they were thinking of both player safety and potential liability. And the media certainly seemed to support them (and blast Frost and Nebraska). And then when they saw other people/teams/conferences had plans to address that they were too proud to backtrack.
I'm just glad that not everyone threw up their hands and just accepted it though.

I think the fear of liability was driving a lot of it, and rightly so. I can believe that if any kid dies from Covid and they can trace it back to football, there will be a lawsuit against the university, the conference, the NCAA, and probably state government.

Oh I agree with all of that. I think they meant well by their decision, they just should have either had the balls to either stand by their decision regardless of the other conferences decisions or should have coordinated with the other conferences and everyone come to a joint decision at the same time... whatever that decision may be

I wanted football, but wasn't going to be one of the people having a mental breakdown if it were all cancelled. Shit happens and it's not me that will get sued if Karen's baby boy gets the Covid from another football player and ends up on a respirator.

I honestly thought that EVERYBODY was going to cancel the season back in July due to liability concerns. I was also surprised when MLB came back.
Hell, my Wife has a small business and is still worried that someone will claim they or a family member got it at her shop and sue us (the business) into the ground.
I'm definitely glad we'll get some form of a season. I won't be going to any games in person, but be happy af to watch on TV.

Cheez-it's are salty yo
Downed a gallon of water and it still isn't working

I don't understand why Nebraska was desiring to play this year anyway? It's not like they have a chance....

lol at the B1G ... period.

That's my alma mater. And a far second to muh Huskers.
Also, expect a bunch of the purple guise to test positive soon. Arky St, who just beat them, had a bunch of players test positive right after the game in Manhattan.

They're the only other team I root for and even then I'm often kind of indifferent.... mostly because K-State fans can be pretty annoying. Worst fans in the old Big XII were, in order, Colorado, Mizzou and K-State.

Also.... is the Pac going to play or what?

Luckily they left after my freshman year, and to a conference with Vols fans
