Does this goddamn site have a tech forum or do I have to go back to tOther place?

I do one stupid googlie search and now i'm here, with 17 different tabs open, researching these mfers!
I got one, but i dont know wtf the ssm o dts or whatever the fuck you said means. I know it has like 3 tetribytes of space

I think you’re onto something. The one I have is worn out, it’s a mold of Camfantasys grandma

what Did you do?
Locked out of the PF and SG for playing hide the Easter Egg. Completely had that coming.

was it closer to $500 or $200? The SSD are more expensive because (and don't quote me here, but I really don't think I know what I'm talking about) they have less moving parts inside and are more reliable. I think that's why i picked that for my laptop.

twinsie's gonna be next then  Better not be me... I just find 'em! lol!

Solid State Drive is the way to go, @moxie
🔧
even for an stupid little external hard drive? Looking at the Samsung T5. I see there's a T7, but most reviews say it's not really that big of an upgrade.

SSD is faster and more reliable. Just depends on if that's worth the extra $$$ to you.

I dunno... I have one now, but 1. my stupid laptop didn't detect it, so I did this partition booshit but I still can't access the stuff already on it because 2. it's files from my old Mac and I think I was supposed to change something other with a NTblah, blah, blah before naming the partition or someshit. All these mawfks on youtube have accents and talk too goddamn fast for me to get it. Anywho- it's 1TB, but I have no idea how much space I have left on it and don't want to reformat because I can't remember if I want that stuff super bad or not.

So for a new one... I really only need it to transfer shit from my work laptop to my home one and to take shit off my phone. Mostly pictures.

Found this on the web....

SSD storage is much faster than its HDD equivalent. HDD storage is made up of magnetic tape and has mechanical parts inside. They're larger than SSDs and much slower to read and write.

For an external hard drive, does it really matter if it's SSD or HDD? I just want to take stuff off of one computer (and probably my phone) and put it on a different computer. I fucking hate technology! :gaah:
What are you looking to move? I've just done email attachments to myself and had flash drives for that.

okay... so in retard terms (moi), it's like getting a cd instead of cassette to record shit. 😕

I have a shit ton of pictures. It's so much easier to organize them on my computer than try to do it on my phone. And my icloud is full and I'm sick of paying those bastards to hold onto my shit. I filled the free space on my google drive, too.

The "SS" stands for solid state. When something is called solid state it means it has no moving parts. No parts moving means no parts to wear out.
