lulz... you would ask the most complicated question regarding volleyball...

It's the Libero. They can sub in and out without needing to notify the officials. That's why they have the different jersey. They are a back row player and are typically the best passer on the team. Unlike other back row players, they can also attack (hit overhand), from anywhere on the court.
 
Speaking of volleyball, daughter has tryouts this weekend.

so only one player can hit overhand from the back row? or libero can hit overhand from everywhere but other back row have to be in certain position to hit overhand?

Back row players canNOT hit overhand, except for the Libero. The only time they should attack, is if the ball has been missplayed, and it's the 3rd hit. Otherwise, the ball should always be moved to the setter to pass to the attackers.
