I keep looking at the ones at treetopia, but then I think of the scent and how much I love a live tree and I just don't know if I can do it. But this Alexander Fir keeps making googly eyes at me

We grew up with artificial trees in the house. Apparently, when I was a little 'tard, my parents used to get live trees, and I would always get sick around Chrimmus. Apparently some people, such as yourn truly, have allergies to the mold that forms on cut trees. So we bought an artificial tree, and we've had them since.

So yeah, I don't even notice the "real tree" smell not being in the house, since it's been over 30 years since we have had one in the house anyway.

And shit, if they're already close to a hundo for live, you're practically printing money for yourself if you get a fake tree to last.

Look at the price of these!

The point of a fake tree, is to not look so fake (cheap).... at this price point, it's TOO artificial looking. Or maybe it is again, when you start getting that high in prices....

Also - I'd never buy one that's pre-lit. I like doing my own strands.

Well, I don't have a weak ass immune system, ya pussy pants! I'm getting a live tree and you'll like it!

😖
Sorry... just realized I've only had coffee and a pretzel bite today.

Therein lies the rub (right Win Twins?)

I had fake trees in the past and would always break them down and store them when I was done. But, I kept losing pieces and had to get another fake tree.

Last year, I said fuck it, I left it intact, threw a tarp over it and put it in the garage. All I have to do now is take it out and plug it in.

How hard is it to make sure that each branch get's put back in the box???

Nevermind. Thy name is Dole.... No explanation necessary.

The first tree we had was some kind of goofy hand-me-down from my wife's grandparents. You put up a pole, and then each "branch" had a spot to click in. Annoying AF.

My current tree disassembles in three pieces, and you just turn it upside down and the "branches" collapse.

And again, legit DGAF if it doesn't "look real". It's a cotdamn dead tree with lights and ornaments hanging from it.

I want it to have green needles, and no decorations that I don't put on it myself.

Don't you think that I would have been laser-focused on that? I could have sworn that I put everything in one place in a covered lid storage box and still I would get missing pieces.

And if you celebrate Festivus, you're all finsihed.
I had to replace the pole in my closet. Bought a metal pole to replace the wooden one. I think I had about two extra feet of the metal pole after I had trimmed it down to fit in my closet.

The leftover piece is my Festivus pole.

This explains how you got your last one for 50 bones...

Got a 20lb. Butterball Turkey- frozen, $.89/lb. from Target.

#Winning

That's a shame you had to pay anything at all! I got a 20 lbs turkey for free from my grocery store for spending $100 on groceries.

You suck at this winning thing....

I bought a 9' tree (tall and skinny) years ago post-holidays, and still paid $700 for it. The 8 footer I bought before that was probably about the same.... but that one is a fat fucker, so it sits in storage unless the girls want to do it. I have a 12 foot ceiling and would love to get a taller tree, but this one takes hours to set up, as it is.... Every branch needs to be shaped before being put on. I also do 1 light strand per level...

$700! I haven’t put up a tree in at least 4 years. Have one that my uncle made me out of wood by hand for a Christmas present several years ago.

The presents still manage to find their way under it and I save money on a tree every year.

STUPID KRIMMINS TALK

Fuuuuuuck.... We have 4 new guys at work. They were in training all day yesterday with some other folks. I had them all day today but one called in sick. Just got notified he, the one who called in sick today, tested positive for the 'Rona this afternoon. Now the other 3 have to quarantine.
:rip:

No wonder your wife left you.
