Derby Pie is a pie that was originally made for the Kentucky Derby. The best way to describe it is similar to a pecan pie, but with the addition of chocolate chips.

Bourbon balls are a kind of candy made with crushed pecans, 'nilla wafers, cocoa powder, 4x sugar, and bourbon.

They are both things with which anyone from Kentucky would be familiar, but sometimes I forget they're pretty specifically Kentucky items, and most people from outside Kentucky have no reason to know what the hell they are.
