I never take this much time off in one sitting. And as a result, I've stopped accruing vacation days for the second time this year.

I'm just going to start taking a week off once every quarter. Them crumbumbs at work can get along without me for a couple days at a time

Ugh. I think I'm going to cash out on a bunch of vacation time because I've hit the max accrual amount.

I hit my max the first pay period of January. Time for monthly "stay-cations".... and them beches better not ring me.
 
If you had to choose to get a stupid box of chocolate from your boss and the stupid company doesn't have the gift your boss wants to give at the correct price point and you have to get a substitute, which would you rather have:
a dozen truffles

My employers don't pay out at the end of the year. If you don't use it, you just stop accruing.

But then, when you want a couple of days off here and there, it's like "SSSSSSSSsssssssssssss.....oooh, yeah, don't think we can approve that just now...

And they're constantly bragging about how generous the time off allotments are.

I'm trying to bank the max amount so that I can add it to my 8 week sabbatical that I am eligible for in 16 months, 19 days and 9 hours.

I was thinking the same thing. He was super adamant about TRUFFLES and there's usually a $50 box but it's not there today. If I order the truffles or the assorted though, it's under $599 (need 20 boxes) and I get a 15% discount for being a new subscriber (plus free shipping). If I get the middle one, it's over $599 and I don't get the discount.

I'd go with #3, just because so many people send truffles this time of year. If your boss was super adamant about TRUFFLES, though, I guess you have to go with TRUFFLES

I was kinda thinking the same thing... and it's not like any of his direct reports makes less than $1mm/year so these boxes will get regifted or tossed with the rest of the pile, so why do I even care? That way, they can say, "thanks for the truffles, boss!) and hopefully he won't ask, "Did she get you the $50 box, like I told her to?!!"

Well, if #2 is way more expensive, and bossypants demands truffles, then go with #1
