My son was like that. He came to live with me when he was 13 and never wore shorts other than a swim suit when he went to the beach or on a boat. When he moved here, he still never wore them, even though it's regularly 90+ degrees here in the summer.

Then, about 5 years ago, he suddenly started wearing them all the time. No idea why. lol

Hot as a muh fuckka in the summer.... super humid too. I used to wear them when I was young but I did construction after high school and couldn't wear them so I just got used to it. I just rock the boxers and undershirt at the house. Maybe basketball shorts if I have to go to the mailbox or something, but they don't stay on long. Scrubs at work.
 
Most of the dudes in my family worked construction their whole lives and I've never seen them in shorts either so I imagine that factored in as well.

My Sister and I used to steal our Dad's scrub pants. Wore them as lounge/pajama pants.
