Came home yesterday and my 9th grader was doing trig homework on his computer. He was like, "Dad, can you help with this?" and I just repeated back everything he said to me until he figured it all out on his own.

My method would have been to tell him to go clean his room and if he sassed me, I'd ground him. Highfalutin kids these days!

I was seriously lost. The only thing I helped with was one problem where they asked for the height of a non-right triangle and they only gave you one angle and the length of one side. I told him to make an imaginary line down the middle, which would create two right triangles, and then he worked backwards using that pythagoras deal-a-mummie
