Nah, we don't get severe flooding. The back of the house is below street level, and when it rains hard it comes through the back door to the basement. Last summer when NYC had those really bad floods, we had about a foot of water down there. Had to throw a bunch of stuff out. This time it was only about an inch (WOOooooo...)No sump pump?
So spend the 80-200 bucks and replace it, then buy a cheap backup and water alarm to alert you if it failsSump pumps have been failing on our block at like 5 places this year. So that means ours is bound to soon too.
