8 weeks every 7 years, plus whatever vacation you have if you wanna tack that on, too. I became eligible this year, but with the new boss coming on board, I pushed it out. probably take it in 2024. I have so much vacation, I get cashed out every January to get under the cap. So I could probably take 3 months when I’m ready.
If I took three months, I wouldn’t have a job when I came back. It’s hard to get two consecutive weeks.

We used to have 3 years from your eligibility date to take it or you’d lose it. They don’t let you get it paid out, either. They WANT us to take it.
