Why does the news think I need to see 15 minutes of the Queen's funeral? Didn't some people die today somewhere else?

Actually, no one died. They all put off death for a day to pay respects to the Queen.

It's a good thing @fordman84 is around to run the site while @HammerDown is recovering from
his multiple stab wounds.
@fordman84 is deceptively quick. Or I’m just bad with reading maps. Either way- guilt by association is good enough for me!

Got word from the C suite that people have to start coming back to work "at least 2-3 days per week." Some of these folks that have worked exclusively from home are gong to rebel. Will give me a chance to clear out some dead wood :plotting:

The organizer girl said the velvet ones are skinnier so I’m guessing it’s going to free up a few inches of space…so maybe 150 more things?
Wire hangers are even skinnier... and they're great for beating children with. Or so I hear.

Yeah, but the slippery & skinny strapped stuff slides right off of them.

And they leave marks. Or so I hear.

lol @ companies whose employees use computers all day trying to get their employees to waste money going to the office.

People mad at CBS. I guess they cut away from the funeral to show price is right and let’s make a deal

I think we’re gonna start trying to figure out how to get more people in the office again, too. First passive move (because cod forbid, anyone’s feelings get hurt) is to eliminate “hybrid-assigned” seating. We currently have 3 choices-
fully remote: not preferred and by exception
Hybrid: supposed to come in occasionally, but no assigned seating
Hybrid-assigned: supposed to come in occasionally you get to keep your assigned seating.
Problem is- there is no real set number of days. At first, they said 3 to keep your desk, then everyone cried about people touching their stuff and where were they going to keep their pens and pictures little Billy drew. So we took away the minimum and said, it’s “a discussion you have with your manager and what works for your team” and naturally, it became zero. So I think we’re taking away the last option. Either you’re in or your desk gets thrown in the rotation. Will be interesting to see how we police this.

@Hu War Yu you sellin your pad?

I bet the views of the people that $250 million could be helping instead of one asshole wasting it are spectacular.

I don't WANT some of my team back in the office, because when they do show up, all they do is BS all day with each other. And everyone who walks by who haven't seen them in a year or more is all "HAAAAYYYYYY! HOW ARE YOU, WHO MADE YOU COME BACK TO THE OFFICE?!?" and then I start getting the angry emails and phone calls saying "can you shut your team up?"

They probably get as much done a home, or more, and I don't have to put up with their nonsense. But I know the incoming CEO is all about fairness and equity, and since we have so many other people who can't work remotely, then nobody should work remotely.
