You need to clean those feeders every week. Also, watch out for ants and bees that try to gangster the feeder away from the birds.

I mixed 4:1 water:sugar, is what I read on the innnerneps. I will probably clean every 2-3 weeks until it gets warmer, then probably every week. I hung it where those fuckface squirrels can't get to it without falling, but I have to be honest- I would be THRILLED to have bees feed out of it. I love bees! Ants are cool if they aren't in my bidness, but I'll let them live otherwise. But fuck those squirrels.

There's a bird sickness going around right now, so some people are actually recommending all feeders/birdbaths be empty for a few weeks. A bit of forced social distancing of sorts for the critters.

I mix 3 to 3.5: 1 water to sugar. Gets them high and they fight over it.

Ahh, but you know he wasn't eatin' rite. I kept telling him about the sodium. He was all "but I got a hot personal trainer!"

I use a concentrate that has natural red coloring in it that doesn't hurt them. They seem to really like it.
