Yeah, I've never really known of any other reason to go there (unless, like Hu, one knows someone who lives there).

Isn't it funny how even people from Jersey make fun of Staten Island ... and, like, not even from the nice parts of Jersey.
There was an episode of CSI New York where they were at a recreation of the boat race to determine which state would take Staten Island and there were all kinds of quips about how Jersey lost on purpose.

My phone asked me today if I would like to automatically put my phone on vibrate when it detects my work wifi and on ring when it detects my home wifi and I was like....

That’s the beautiful thing about this here pandemic. My boss told me we’ll be working from home from now on. I may throw away all of my long pants.
For real. I've been working from home for a decade. I wear pants when it's -37 and to funerals.

Pablo escobar is rumored to have been in possession of Bolivar's sword at one time. A communist guerilla group called M19 once stole it while it was on display and it is rumored Escobar was in possession of it for a short time after that.

Queens and Staten Island gin is just hair gel in a glass bottle. Or a jar of Ragu.
Prolly better than Malort.
When I was living in New York my one trip to Staten Island was on the ferry just to say I hit all five boroughs. I immediately turned around and got on the return.

:noidea:

I actually wanted to see more of it but it was getting late and that's a long commute back.
There are worse places in NYC. For example: Brownsville, Flushing, The Bronx... any place that sounds like a public toilet.

I kinda liked Flushing but I only stayed around the US Open/Citi Field area. Only time in the Bronx was at Yankee Stadium but the skyline of it coming down I-95 is....not pretty

I think Queens is bout the only place I din't get to in NYC.

Shameful ... I wanted to see Archie & Edith's House & Place, too. :sigh:

But Staten Island was 'great' for me.

Yeah, it’s not until you’ve been a couple of times to Yankee Stadium that you realize that that’s probably the best part. The subway there is majorly sketchy at night; probably the inspiration for ‘The Warriors’.

Staten Is. has as many nice areas as nasty ones- the area is huge. That’s not to say that you can’t be in the nice areas like Highland Blvd or Silver Lake Park and not see a topless fight between two fat guys or get a strong whiff of the landfill, which still stinks 15 years after its closure or 20 miles away.

Hey @steelerssb ...

Staten Island is better than Staten Is.

Fight me ... bech.
