Yeahh... CFOs don’t exactly appreciate being sandbagged. I have too much respect for EAs not getting blasted later, to get pressured to push invites out further when I set the agenda.My old boss was the same... Unless you made it, work on it or own it, you don't need to be in the meeting. The problem we have is that everyone wants face time with the big boss. They want to be like, "Oh, yeah- I was in a meeting with Exec VP and he told me..." Lyin' bech. He told the room to take a break. Now GTFO. I had one group tell me they needed 7 people invited to this meeting with the CFO.
They had a 20 minute presentation slot!![]()
I understand what the idea is, being seen by the top brass, but 98% of the time, it’s about streamlining so that our daily 13 meetings are only 30 mins each. With my own staff I always try to add opportunities for them to present at some point, but other departments and external partners don’t have the same discipline.
