I actually DO hope these so-called vaccines work out. But right now these are an equivalent of just a "flu shot", although a significant one.

For me, the definition of a "vaccine" is different than the one being over played out there right now. BUT, if it "floats yer boat" to get it, then go right ahead. I'm not one to criticize it. I'm not gonna right now. :nod:

Agree completely. Perhaps if I had a more burning need, I'd want to get one of the vaccines more. But my age, health and relative lack of fear around the pandemic means I too would prefer that others more needy would get the vaccine first. Someone would have to be a completely greedy asshole to insist on getting a shot when there are older and sicker people who should be prioritized. (The same for someone who rushed out and hoarded N95 masks when first responders and nursing home residents could better use them.)

Vaccines were never a silver bullet, particularly for something like coronavirus. They take time to fight against incubation, there are side effects, people who reject them, and they might not be effective if the bug mutates readily. But in the absence of a treatment, it's what people most commonly think of as a "cure".

When the dust clears, it'll be interesting to see who the people are who decline, under any circumstances, to get a COVID vaccine at all.

Except he doesn’t have an Eva Braun. Cuomo deserves what he gets, and will forever be remembered as having ended his time in disgrace. Not so for the unhinged fanboys who touted him as the anti-Trump when in the end, his crimes are, well, substantially worse than Trump’s.
