I've been studying cryptocoins and blockchain. Lots of potential since you cut out the middleman - banks, governments etc., (not for much longer). But you'd better understand electronic wallets, data and transaction validation, and you'd better have an awareness of spoof crypto sites. I recommend a deeper understanding before jumping in and don't put in any more money than you are willing to lose.
To simplify for those who need it:
Totally unregulated. Like trying to buy drugs from a dealer you don't know; you have to trust he's not selling bullshit and he has to trust that you are giving him real money...
