F that. I picked up a little tchotchke for myself because it was tax free and forgot about it until I was already through customs with the new bag, then I started getting paranoid that they’d find the box in my checked luggage :D

Ugh. Back to work today. Haven’t even looked at my calendar to see how many assholes asked for a meeting. Rude! Did get a quick glimpse at the inbox yesterday though...pretty sure I’ll be able to delete at least 75% of the 400+ emails I received without reading them.

what’s the maths on that? 400/6 work days = about 60/day? looks like my OOO message worked! I should keep it on every day.

I always log on to weed out emails even when I’m on vacation. I can’t stand coming back to a bunch of unread emails. At my company, everyone pretty much ignores an OOO notification.

They still came through on my phone (FUCK YOU, MS EXCHANGE!) so I *sorta* saw stuff that I knew I could for sure ignore, but if I've learned anything over the years, it's not to fuck with work email in any way, shape or form when my BAC is consistently over the local legal limit and/or I'm not familiar with a country's extradition laws.

It's also why I was "officially" back in the office on a Friday. Kind of like a restaurant's soft opening. Monday would have been an avalanche of booshit and I don't want to use up my weekend time on work stuff. And I really needed the time away from work, so there was no chance I was going to log in and have someone catch me online to ask a "QQ". Fuck all that noise.

I live in household full of women, so there’s always significant downtime in the morning to account for the difference in the amount of time it takes me to get ready and the amount of time it takes them. I typically use that time to filter through email, delete the ones I don’t need and forward ones that need attention to someone to respond.
