tOfficial playoff push thread

Braves clinch the NL East

AL Wildcards down to the wire.
Yankees/Rays
RedSox/Nats
Jays/O’s
Mariners/Angels

my first year full year of watching they won 116 games lmao

that 2001 Mariners team was insane. Ichiro, Edgar and a bunch of dudes that played out of their f'n minds

They got better after letting A-Rod walk

2002 and 2003 they won 93 games but missed the playoffs

i'm gonna laugh so hard if the Rays sweep the Yankees just for the LULZ

if the Red Sox, Yankees and Blue Jays (not to mention Mariners) all finish 91-71 what happens?

This explains all the scenarios. With the 4 way tie, the Yankees get to decide who they want to play on the road

Yankees won.
Giants won.
Only hope for drama now is if Blue Jays hold on and Red Sox lose.

Tie game in DC.

There's no way the league will allow for the WCG to not be Yankees-Red Sox, AKA the most overrated and oversaturated rivalry in all of sports.

oversaturated definitely, most overrated? nah, its overrated, but i never get anything out of the Oklahoma/Texas rivalry. its boring tbh

Texas does beat Oklahoma every now and then. Ohio State-Michigan is more overrated in CFB IMO.

Yankees-Red Sox is a matchup of the two teams that are proven to play the longest games in baseball. Fuck both of em, LOL @ them both finishing well behind a team with like 1/3 their payrolls.

lol, i don't even consider Ohio State/Michigan a rivalry anymore

it is a pathetic watch that should be broadcasted exclusively on the Big Ten Network.

If the Mariners don't get in, it will be the third time since 2000 that they've missed the playoffs while winning 90+ games.

And 8 times they've missed the playoffs with a winning record since 2000.

And the Red Sox just took a 2 run lead in the 9th.

It's a shame really, the Blue Jays have huge run differential advantage over any team in the WC race and they're more than likely staying home as well

well

if the Jays wanted better luck, then they shouldn't be based out of Canada

The Buffalo team would have made the playoffs for sure

amen

did y'all see that the Rays may play a portion of future home schedules in Montreal? Probably the first step in moving the Rays to Montreal

I would start a most disappointing second half team thread, but the Padres might be the most disappointing second half team of this millennium

Mets and A's also had disappointing second halves, but the Padres are the runaway "winner"

Them having to call 3 different cities home over the course of the season probably didn't help their chances. Our road series against them this year was located in Florida. Also, when they were finally allowed to start playing in Toronto, they were like the only team still playing with limited capacity crowds, and Toronto fans show up for a contender.
