Braves acquired Joc Pederson from the Cubs for Rookie League 1B Bryce Ball.

He ain't Acuna, but he's better than anything we have in house to fill the shoes. Rental for sure, but a cheap one. I might have given up on the season, but I guess the front office hasn't.

Ball's actually in A+ ball. FWIW, Pipeline does rank him 8th among 1B prospects though he's struggled with contact in A+. it wouldn't be shocking if those contact issues continue and he never reaches the majors. we'll see.

Joc's been underwhelming but April kinda drags his numbers down. He's hit .254/.310/.463 since May 1. Not great, but not detrimental to the lineup anyway (defense is another story). I would have loved to see him in a Sox uniform even if it's only because I love watching him play

If the Braves lose the first 2 series, they should flip Pederson to someone else.

Heard a rumor that the Brewers are going to make a run for Kris Bryant.

Doubt that would ever happen but it is nice to dream.

Great sign and (soon to be) flip by Cherington. Anderson's having a good year and can eat innings.

Getting the Padres #5 prospect would be an absolute win for the Pirates. Well done again Ben Cherington

The Yankees gave up not one but TWO near-MLB players for Clay fucking Holmes?

:spit:

Seems solid for both sides. Mariners get a solid yet unspectacular lefty innings eater and the Pirates flip a cheap signing into a possible No. 2 catcher and a teenage pitcher who seems to have a lot of upside.

I just can't believe they couldn't afford to give Hoy Park any shot in the majors after killing AA/AAA, but they continue to give Tyler Wade and his career 53 OPS+ a roster spot.

Marte to the A's for Luzardo and cash

Joey Gallo to yankees
