Toosday's thread to exchange ideas, discuss odd personal beliefs, and insult each other

Step kids' school had another teacher get the COVID. So starting on Thursday they're going alternating schedule. They'll be in person Tuesday & Thursdays and every other Friday.

@SlinkyRedfoot that dashboard yesterday was all sorts of wrong.

Well, it was published on 10/8. Did you take that into account, motherfucker?!

We straight went to homeschool for my oldest. Wife hasn't started work yet from the newborn and stroke, so she's able to do the teaching. It's 2-3 hours, usually while the baby is napping, which beats the hell out of sitting in front of a tablet for 8 hours if we went virtual through the public school.
I wish virtual was more in front of the tablet. Right now he has two webex meetings with the class, one in the AM and one after noon. Other than that it is self led materials with the teacher being available for chat with questions. Then he does all of the work on googledocs and submits it through the ISD web portal.

That kid is NEVER in class. And he knocks out all of his work by noon and just screws around the rest of the day.

A lot of people don't know how and why the put-your-wet-phone-in-rice-overnight bit works. What happens is, while you sleep, little Chinese fairies come into your house, attracted by the rice, find your phone and fix it.

Sounds like perfect preparation for the current working environment.

Not sure I'd care for there to be more virtual meetings on the days at home. If they can finish in 3 hours what takes 6 hours at school, that seems like a good thing. I like the hybrid model, tbh.

Raining hard here....
