Mark Martin truly shocks me he never won.

Denny Hamlin will get one before he retires

Carl Edwards and Tony Stewart should have been declared Co Champs and shared it IMO.

Dale Jr would have won at least 1(maybe multiple) if his dad didn’t die.

Carl Edwards would have 2 if they kept the Winston Cup points and didn’t have a stupid Chase.

A lot of the older guys on the list probably would have won one if they raced a full schedule. Fred Lorenzen finished 3rd one year despite barely running half the races

Dick Trickle
If he would have went to NASCAR 20 years earlier, he probably would have been one of the top drivers of his era. But he was a 48 year old rookie that never had a chance.

But he was making more money than all but the top few NASCAR drivers in the 60’s-80’s by dominating the Mid West short track scene.

Rusty Wallace and Mark Martin say he was the toughest racer they ever had to compete against

Tim Richmond & Harry Gant belong on that list way before Dale Jr. & Carl Edwards.

I saw them race. You didn't.
Doesn’t matter. Results are still there, and Edwards would be a 2 time champ under the points system Gant and Richmond raced under, and from 00-06, Dale Jr had more wins than Richmond did in his career and damn near the same amount as Gant. That’s a 7 year span where Jr outperformed both for their entire careers. Just because you’re old doesn’t mean you understood what you were watching

Bad evidence, idiot.

Mark Martin has forever been my favorite driver. Always a bridesmaid.

Turned me into a huge supporter of Valvoline and Viagra

Nice guys don’t finish last, they just finish second a lot. Martin has nearly twice as many second place finishes as wins
