We have a real nice slate of OOC games this season. Much better than what we had last year.
What I'm glad to see are a many more "at" games than "vs" games.

How good the football is doesn't matter. It is all about the name.

I forgive your homerism taking the ND-A&M game over Alabama @ Wisconsin.

Unfortunately, I don't think the Bama vs. Wisconsin game will be all that close.

Yeah, that has snoozer written all over it as someone with no dog in that fight.

Yeah, they're going to have to have a big improvement from last year to keep it close. Their best win was Rutgers last season. It will be a great atmosphere though.

I suppose so. I’d just rather watch a competitive game than watch Alabama flex in a non-competitive game. Atmosphere or not.

If I am gonna watch a shitty non-competitive game willingly I’m not gambling on, it will be a Big 12 game.

Yeah, that's part of the reason I had it behind ND vs. A&M. I think early on it could be close, but Bama will pull away after halftime IMO.

This. It will have a big ratings number at the beginning with a major decline in the second and third hour.

Unless some team gets completely wiped out with injuries or gets their dauber down for too long after a loss/losses, I don’t see non competitive games among the Big 12 teams. I can’t see significant separation among the whole bunch.

That said, there could be a few games if everything falls in place for one team and falls completely apart for the other team.

It's a great game, but if both teams aren't great, a little of the shine comes off of it. I also project USC as a 4/5 loss team so that also takes away from it a little. You could argue it should be ahead of WVU/PSU and I wouldn't argue, but from a pure atmosphere perspective, it's going to be crazy in Morgantown for that game, and it'll just be meh at USC IMO, if they are a 4 loss team going into the game.
So I don’t disagree with your reasoning here but then if that’s the case WVU at Pitt should be off the list. Pitt looks like they’ll struggle again this year and we are very likely 1-1 heading into this game. I think if things play out the way they should WVU should crush Pitt. I know I know, things usually don’t but going by your solid reasoning here I’d replace 23 with SCar v Clemson

I am probably a little biased given the proximity of where I grew up, and all the connections I have to Pitt and WVU. That game just hits different, even if the teams don't project to be all that good(I think WVU will be decent, Pitt not so much). I grew up on the old Big East, Big 10 and ND. That's why I'm fascinated with PSU/WVU. I wish WVU projected to be a little better or I'd have that game higher.

I’m definitely biased (as I went to WVU) and I get what you mean as I believe we are from the same county so I’m happy it made this list. And it’s usually a good game but this year I’m really hoping it’s not.

I don't think it's unfair to think WVU will be the better team this year. I really like their offense, and I think their rushing attack can absolutely go up against PSU's. With the game in Morgantown this year, I wouldn't be shocked at all if they win, especially considering all PSU lost.

I admittedly haven't done a real deep dive, outside of the top 10ish teams or so, so I'm not exactly sure what all WVU lost/returns(I do know they lost their C). I do think PSU could take a slight step back on defense, and maybe offense too with the losses on the Oline. And they weren't great on offense to begin with. I also wouldn't be surprised if WVU won this game.

This is the first time PSU will have played in Morgantown since 1992. These teams played every year between 1947 and 1992. It really was a great rivalry before PSU joined the B1G. That stadium will be rocking.

WVU's rushing attack could be really good this year. Not only do they return their top 2 RBs who combined for 1640 yards at a 5.6ypc clip (slightly better qualitatively than Singleton and Allen at PSU, surprisingly), but their QB also had 772 yards/6.4ypc with 13 TDs. Greene isn't a great thrower, but he might not need to be if the running game can take another step forward and open things up for him in the passing game. I know PSU has a new OC which could make a big deal, but the OL losses coupled with losing Lambert-Smith doesn't inspire much faith in PSU's offense. I wouldn't be shocked if it's a very quick game with like a 23-17 final.
