Mav iced his career at the start. That was a pretty big plot point in the movie. So Rooster is Goose's son. He was about 4-5 in Top Gun, this takes place 36 years later, making him 40-41 ish. Even if he looks young for his age, a 40 year old O-3?
Well it was a big plot point that Maverick really stunted and delayed Rooster's career in the navy.
Kinda like watching Avatar on an old b&w tv on vhs. That's a major waste to watch some bootleg on your computer instead of seeing this in imax.
There's a fine line between tribute and blatant rip off, I don't know what this was. It wasn't just flying through the trench to hit a small vent target. They even had the cocky rouge pilot who was thought to be out of the picture sweep in to save them at the end.I finally watched this and it’s fun not great but damn if they didn’t rip off the blowing up the death star story from Star Wars to the point of being shameless.
do they say what year Maverick takes place though? So Rooster is Goose's son. He was about 4-5 in Top Gun, this takes place 36 years later, making him 40-41 ish. Even if he looks young for his age, a 40 year old O-3?
