Tournament Thread - ACC Tournament

Greensboro is the historic choice but Charlotte seems like the most logical because of the airport
i get that argument, but i don't completely buy it. I don't think too many people are flying to go watch a college basketball tournament. The ACCT has worked in Greensboro since the 60s. The Brooklyn tournament is way too expensive for the common fan.

What fans are you losing by moving the tournament from Greensboro to Charlotte? I wouldn’t think you’d lose many. And it’s cheaper for fans of teams that can drive to it to fly into Charlotte

i don't think you'd lose many, either. people that cover this league repeatedly say that the ACCT in Greensboro just hits different. The professional is top class and they always roll out the red carpet.

i just don't think there's a big difference between Greensboro and Charlotte. I don't think the bottom line changes for the league. Greensboro Coliseum is bigger and does holds over 2,000 more people than the Spectrum Center. I do think something should be said that the Greensboro Coliseum screams ACC and college basketball in a way that Charlotte doesn't.

i just don't think that many people fly to watch college basketball. Greensboro is also a better location for the Big Four and the Virginia schools. Which at this point, is the heart and soul of this league when it comes to basketball.
