Just the opposite ...I told them I didn't want a ton of narcotics, so they have me some real low dosages of weak stuff. Them one of the anesthesiologists came in and looked at my face, and said "nu-uh... Load him up." We've been playing catch-up all yesterday and this morning.

But the surgery went well, I should be going home later today. Thanks everyone for your T's n P's

I was in and out after the operation. My kids came to visit and I barely remember seeing them. Feeling much more with it today but still a lot of pain. They made a bigger incision in my midsection than they led me to believe.

Four decades ago, I went to a bar after a baseball game wearing a Savannah Braves hat signed by Dale Murphy (briefly, he was on that team in the 70s, playing catcher). The bar had an all women band performing, The Fabulous Scallion Sisters. DeDe Vogt was playing bass that night. Being a baseball fan, she approached me at the bar to ask if I was/had been a player for the Savannah Braves. Though I replied, “no,” the rest of the band came over. The lead singer (I can’t remember her name) wore a “belly shirt” that revealed a J-shaped surgical scar. I told her that there is no beauty without scars, and she was sexy. Collectively, they decided that I was OK for a straight guy that didn’t play professional baseball.

If the narcotics make you punch-drunk and ill, tell 'em yer allergic and to give ya a dose of Benedryl first.
