Being around dirt, bugs and bad shitters?

We already know your fancy-lad proclivities.

We did break down and get a 20 ft trailer a few years back. The wife was whining bout the kids and bears er some shit. lulz

I don't get the itch to camp til Fall tho, and I ain't doing any kind of camping if there's no fishing. Fishing is the prime objective. Throwing hatchets by campfire while blasted is just extra icing.
I camped and back packed a ton when I was a kid (because it was cheap). When our kids were little we took them a few times (because it's cheap). But I reached my limit a couple years back. I have a low tolerance for discomfort now.

Like your cheap ass would pay for a 4 star hotel.

I'm not a cheapskate. My talent is getting the best deal for the lowest price. I search for and get the best deals and specials: trivago.com, booking.com, kayak.com, hotels.com, etc., etc. Plus, AAA discounts, AARP discounts. Tedious, but I don't care. Saves a shitload of money over time.

I've done a bunch of backpacking, but nothing overnight in some time now. My kids are lazy turds and I would prolly go fucking crazy trying to get them to keep up. We've tent camped with them when they were young, but we've had enough bear encounters, that my wife is over that shit. So trailer it is now, and I gotta say, it's kinda sweet, aside from the fact that it is also a fuckton of work.

I never sleep better than when camping tho. Trailer or tent. Of course, that's aided by 27 beers, 15 bowls and general overall exhaustion.

Fishing has always been the golden rule with camping for me. If we ain't fishing, we ain't camping.

You’re checking multiple aggregates?

Depends on the size of the city. Some aggregates have listings that some don't.

After I check those, I go to promising individual vendor websites to see if their deals are better.
Stack credit card offers with Rakuten on direct websites, always the best deal.
