As if regular oreos weren't offensive enough! Also - I flew southwest the other day and they gave out oreos for their snack. I suppose it's better than their knockoff Dot's pretzels, but ew. Can't possibly go well with a bloody mary at 6am.

While I agree that fascism Is typically, a far right ideology, the Democrats have borrowed one key characterization in recent years, which is "the forceful suppression of opposition". We saw it all throughout Covid, where scientists were censored and fired for expressing an opposing opinion. We're seeing it against women who are punished because they don't want to shower with strange men who like to call themselves women, and we see it in terror groups like Antifa, who proclaim to be "anti-fascist" but commit acts of violence against those who don't share their opinions. People have been fired from their jobs for expressing an opinion the left didn't agree with.

So it's the perfect smoke screen. You can commit acts of fascism all while saying that it's the other side who are historically "fascist". Crafty bastards.

It's funny, I had just sent my brother a picture from this summer with The Tower of London in the Foreground and Barad-dur in the background. What I called Barad-dur is actually known as The Shard, but, as I explained to my brother, between the way it looks and its kind of omnipresence throughout London (it's damned near inescapable ... you're looking at this or that in whatever part of the city, and there's the top of that building in the background), it's hard not to expect the Eye of Sauron to show up at any minute.

HNY...my daughter is about to return my precious Tortie to me this weekend. She and her BF are moving again, and they will be bringing ALL their cats for a couple of nights. Trying to convince them to let us give a few away, we already have some takers if they're willing.
 
I may attempt the unthinkable today...unpacking the very next day after returning from a trip. I mean- this is a fairly momentous occasion for me. I wonder what I should buy myself as a reward for a job well-don... let's not get crazy. It's gonna be a half-ass job at best.

But I should still get a participation award.
