Trev has killed the balloon release at Nebraska

If that's the case then I dont' know why it would be canceled? Were those being used?
I'm assuming they were being used. Clemson used to use them, but the environmentalists still came out strong against them. It still takes several years for them to degrade, anywhere from 1-5+ years. For Clemson it was something along the lines of 10000 balloons per game. So say they take on average 3 years to degrade, thats still around 200,000 balloons just lying around from one school. And thats three years of dumbass animals eating them or laying in roadside ditches.

Hardly a thing to worry about when you drive around every city and see millions of plastics and metals everywhere and not a single person in sight is worried about that.
meh, just because some places are shitholes and don't pick up after itself, doesn't make it alright to just add to the problem.

They're balloons. Unless you're a five year old, who fucking cares. Clemson no longer uses them and its still the best entrance in sports.

Well being as how no one goes around picking up that shit in every city and these happen to be biodegradable... I don't think it really adds to the problem. Especially when you factor in how rare it actually is.

Really?

A&M yells.
Auburn throws toilet paper
Miss St bangs a bunch of fucking annoying cowbells
Clemson has a pet rock.
Iowa has a pink locker room

Miss me with this 'it's childish' nonsense. If you don't care, then GTFO of our business.
Clemson... and its still the best entrance in sports.
That's never been the case.

yep if you give a shit. I expect you to drive around with a trash bag and pick all that shit up.

Again, just because people don't give a shit about cleaning up your city, doesn't make ok to add to the problem. "I don't think it adds to the problem". So you think a couple extra hundred thousand balloons laying around helps?

Give it a year and everyone will forget about it because...they're balloons. Even all the orphan children getting free tickets to help fill out the empty stadium won't care.

Alabama could have the best...if saban were to lay on the 50 yard line and every bama player runs on the field and tbags him like they do in practice.

I can't remember the last time I was walking around and saw an old balloon laying on the ground. How about you? Seems this is all more of the same woke bullshit we read about every day. Let them use biodegradable balloons and GTFO of Nebraska's business.
It's Nebraska that is stopping the tradition. :noidea:

And those balloons can travel a long ways before coming down. It’s littering someone else’s town, not their own

I’ve balloons come down on both my property and at work within the last year

Yep. The clemson balloons were found hundred of miles away. I think people use the "biodegradable" excuse to try and make it seem like its not litter.

You act as if they all go up and down together. These balloons cover thousands and thousands of acres. You likely wouldn't even find many together.

And again, I don't really give a shit about "what helps" when y'all want to live like jackasses and not bitch about the real problems.

Jelly you can't sell out?

Hey, at least you still have that pet rock.

the only balloons i have ever seen in the big ass "9" or whatever age the little shit is turning in a tree or something

I remember in elementary school (In lincoln Ne), every year, we would write the school address on a piece of paper, attach it to a balloon, send the balloon up, and ask someone to write the school if they found the balloon. We got like 1 or 2 letters back a year from around the country. (this was before email or faxes :L)

Yeah but too many people are on here dumping on Nebraska for what they decided to do on their own volition. I enjoy seeing other schools have their own tradition. Those cowbells drive me crazy, standing for every play seems ridiculous to me and I'd like to punch a hole in that big ass drum Texas has but I wouldn't ask any of them to change a thing. You and I probably agree that Boomer and Sooner pulling the schooner doesn't mean a heck of a lot to Western Civilization but it's cool to watch because anyone who sees it immediately thinks "Oklahoma".

Chewy nailed it. Helium shortage + balloons are just litter = knock that crap off. if you are mesmerized by floating objects then get a kite or turn on your ceiling fan and watch the blades spin.
dont be so gay, mmmkay

Well.... it's cool when it tips over lol.
