Anyone have a favorite rub they use when smoking Tri Tip?
 
Why would you smoke tri tip?

seems like a waste of good cut of steak

i like my trip tip mid rare, I just do simple blend of spg, oregano, sage, paprika

It wasn't a waste by all means.

Tri Tip is a great for all types of recipes.

I've used it as steak, chili, sandwiches and stew.

How do you cook it?

I grill it. Sear it off on both sides and then cook via indirect heat until medium rare.

My preferred method of grilling!

I used to do the sear and slide but once I tried the reverse sear method on steaks it's how I cook most things now on my grill. Even pork and chicken. I find it cooks better that way.
