"Hot Dog..." is listed in 1983 here but I think it wasn't released until '84 or '85?
"Separate Vacations" is 1986
As I recall "Hot Dog" has a wet t-shirt contest in it, a defining moment for any sophomoric 80s comedy

That’s who I came in guessing. But, I don’t know if I remember a commercial. I remember the song and that it had some success, not if it was top 10.
