Tropical Storm Mindy?

Will get barely a mention on national news. The media only gives a damn if a tropical storm is about to slam into perpetually unprepared NOLA or cause devastation up north (where they live).

The panhandle probably doesn't need anymore rain.. we are + 6" in my immediate area.. Orlando area is still in a slight deficit.. but nothing crazy

2001, we got hit with a tropical storm in Tampa. I drove from Tampa to Lakeland during it and when I walked in the door, my boss said what are you doing here - work was cancelled. I ididn't even think to check because it wasn't bad. the following week, we got hammered by a worst storm and was expected to come in because it wasn't named...

Oh wow. I haven’t checked this recently and just been going by feel. I’m south of the metro in Osceola and we feel nice and flush with rain.

But then I remember May and June when yards were looking like hay. Earlier future radar was calling for a good blow up about now. Just checked and it’s underwhelming.

Though there is the nicest little breeze now….

This is the guy I’ve been following on these things. Wasn’t much to talk about two days ago….then the chances started going up. She hasn’t popped as much as she might have been able to across the Gulf, but there is a good rain maker coming the next day.

Wondered if she might have a chance once she crosses over and gets into the Gulf Stream. Track here looks like she is just going to blow right past that.

Ok. Radar didn’t see this coming. It’s coming down fierce right now. A really good watering down. Thanks Mindy!

Ha. We got it about 15 mins ago. A very nice solid shower and light show.

May this be the worst tropical experience we get this season….
