She's doing well all things considered. Dodged a real bullet and ended up having a stage 1 cancer. Her surgeon was stunned because I guess it's uncommon to have someone with a 2 inch cancer to not have it spread outside of the colon. She lost about a foot of colon, but that's all. No chemo.

That's why I was able to still make the trip to State College last week to see the Penn State game with our son and spend a little time with our grandkids.
Sounds like she and you both dodged a bullet!

Glad to hear it!

You may or may not know or remember, although not as serious, my wife broke her pelvis in two places winter before last. Slipped on some ice and I never saw 110 lbs. fall down so fast in my life!!!

Had to take care of her every need for a few months, so I can empathize with ya!

Good to hear. I had a stage 3 tumor in a kidney, got removed back in March. doing a year of immunotherapy but no chemo needed.
Damn Hu!!

Did you get to keep the kidney, or are you down to one now?

No, the whole kidney was basically tumor. Plus, I had this condition called horseshoe kidney, where they were joined together. So they had to take a bit of the other one as well. I'm basically running on 9/20ths

Damn, friendly fire injury there!

So I guess no more Holiday Ham and such, eh?

Did they get it all?

My wife is about a month post surgery now and it's mostly she can't lift any real weight and still has to not do chores that she can't do standing up and she still gets super tired easily. But we do have a lot to be thankful for this holiday season for sure.

Surgeon said I was cured, but the oncologist still recommended the immune drugs because of the chances of recurrence. I feel pretty good overall.

Well that sucked! It looked like them Bruins were off to at least a first down there....

Y'all got a great timekeeper there at Husky Stadium!

Look at all the old fucks talking medical stuff during a football game. :tsk:

Man I remember that. I was wiped out for a month, I slept 20 hours a day. It gets better. Wishing her the best!

Sounds that way Wiz, you are surely blessed!

I was fortunate enough to have taken out Accident Insurance for us a few years back. We ended up getting a pretty decent payout that we used for a small boat cruise to Greece and Turkey earlier this year. Talk about making some lemonade from lemons...

Dangit! Just one point, Fancy Bares!

Well that missed kick sucked!

My wife had some weird insurance and got like 10k for this cancer and our share of the bill shouldn't come anywhere near that. We are actually looking at a Mediterranean cruise in a year and a half so I'm right there with you.

Regardless of this games outcome and this year's record, I'm pretty happy with the job Foster has done this year.

He faced a tough SOS, at one point when we were 1-5, of the 5 losses the teams we lost to were a combined 21-1 or something like that but for sure just one loss. (LSU VS USC)

I'm happy they sat Rogers.

That should do it

Hopefully they can keep this kid for next year. This new era of teams coming in and offering stupid amounts of money to poach QB's makes nothing for sure.

Yeah, that's why I brought it up actually.

I didn't even think about it, and gal at the office brought it up asking me if I took out the Insurance on her or not. I thought it was only for me, it was just a couple of bucks, but as it turned out, it was for the both of us.

I would have never made a claim if someone didn't bring it up...

Glad to hear she had something in place, you're gonna love the Med if you've never been there!
