Unpopular film opinions

Tom Hanks wasn’t the right guy for Saving Private Ryan.
In fact, I think another actor from the same movie, Ted Danson, would have done a better job.
That guy's overrated.

John Malkovich as Teddy KGB is on the short list of WORST acting jobs in the history of cinema.

Thats right. I said it.

The first half of the movie "Full Metal Jacket" is some of the most riveting cinema in history, and yet the second half is some of the worst.

Movie would have been better had it ended after Private Leonard “Gomer Pyle” Lawrence stuck his rifle in his mouth, pulled the trigger and painted the latrine walls with his brain matter.

Not sure how unpopular that sentiment is. I think that is pretty much chalk.

I think Wind River is one of the worst movies ever made. Yet I see it on all these lists of underrated gems and it has a high score of 7.7 on IMDB. I think it's just awful and a huge part of it is Jeremy Renner who has been awful in every movie as a lead that I've seen him in with the exceptions of Arrival and The Town.

That seems to be the widespread popular opinion on the movie. On the other hand I actually really like the second half of the movie as well. The atmosphere and cinematography is excellent and I've always enjoyed how it showed them trying to move around buildings and trying to find cover while also opening themselves up to shots from angles they weren't aware of. It did that better than other war movies that are out there. Then also the horror of the end of that all with the woman dying. I think the second half is brilliant which certainly more falls in line with an unpopular film opinion.

The Dirty Dozen should be remade… it could be much better.

I mean even if you dislike the movie, this is just objectively wrong. Badly.

I've watched many, many, many, many movies. There is nothing at all redeemable about that movie. It truly is one of the worst movies ever made in my opinion.

I remember the first time I saw it was so repulsed during and after it by how bad of a movie it was. 3 or so years pass by and I see it on some list of underrated movies. Haven't basically erased that terrible movie from my memory I decide to watch it having no recollection that I've already seen it before. As I'm watching it start getting so repulsed by how awful it is before I finally remembered that I had already seen this god awful movie before and it was just as bad as it was the first time.

I wouldn't wish watching that movie on my worst enemy.

Do you have a side gig writing emails for Princes from the Congo? I recognize your writing style…

I'm sure its already been said, but all of the Star Wars movies pretty much suck.

And not just suck a little, they suck a lot.
