Having said this. I think a lot of people are overrating UCSB and underrating Creighton(mostly due to underachieving and their clunker last game).

I think there is a solid chance Creighton completely blows the doors off as well. IDK if the Gauchos can run with them if they are making shots.
 
Regarding the Winthrop/Nova upset pick that appears to be basically fucking unanimous around the country, I think this is another one that could blow up in peoples faces.

Is Nova banged up and reeling? Yes. Has Winthrop won a lot of games? Yes.

But this has potential to be the sheep lead to the slaughter.

Nova will still have like the 3 best players. Winthrop plays in the fucking big south. DePaul would run a train on that league. Winthrop is 91 in Kenpom.

In 2019. It made sense when Murray State was super trendy over Marquette. We were reeling for weeks, Murray state was more like a top 50 kenpom team and they had uhhh Ja Morant, top 3 pick.

Can anyone name 1 damn player on Winthrop?!?!?!

*Winthrop definitely may win this game. I am just shocked that everywhere I look it seems like 95% of brackets are picking them*

I'm having trouble picking any 12 or higher seeds to win games because, for the most part, they haven't played anybody close to the team they will be playing their 1st round game. Some of them got some OOC games in, but almost none of them played a power conference team. There is a huge difference in playing Campbell and Nova. Plus winthrop won a lot of close games against really weak competition. Same goes with Colgate.

Thats true too. In a year like this, these teams mostly didnt get that non con experience of playing a bunch of quality teams.

I also looked up Winthrop. They have some balanced scoring but they definitely dont have that typical mid major "guy" who gets buckets. And they don't shoot the 3s or free throws very well.

Again, could happen. But this seems more like a case of all the big time basketball fans told themselves ahead of time "I'm taking Nova to lose first round", stuck with it and now sheep follow.

Vaudrin is legit as is Burns. I don't think it's a given fit Nova at all . This would've been a tough matchup even with Cillespie imo

Winthrop is a good mid major, but they weren't beating Villanova.

You can always take the underdog. They don't have to win out right. They just have to cover the spread. The trend will continue today as the favorites will begin to fall, or fail to cover the spread.
