USC and UCLA planning to leave for B10 by 2024!

LOL.. we aren't the under dog, We are TEXAS.. we will get trolled, hated and despised. It comes with the territory.. and it's the best. Fuck the Big12, fuck the SEC while I'm at it

Surly posters saying that on the SC boards or something.. the rumor is that SC did not want anyone else to come with them or UCLA. They wanted to be out on an island, for recruiting purposes.. Also it's longer plane rides but the games in CST ends 2 hours earlier than if they were playing games along the coast

Clemson & OHST are actually consistent at 10+ win seasons, winning conf. titles, & making the CFP.

LSU, not so much. Plus, they’re still dealing with the whole scandal thing.

A top 5-6 CFB power, LSU is not.
You say scandal like that’s a bad thing. If you aren’t scandling you aren’t trying hard enough.

LSU IS 11-12 IN THE LAST TWO YEARS. They have averaged 4 losses a year in all the years with the exception of the national title year. Winning a title is great, but when you are just another team the other 9 years in the last decade -- it doesn't make you one of the top tier elite. It'd be a slap in the face to teams like Bama, Ohio State and Clemson to put LSU in the same tier.

They weren't even top 25 the last two years in the last decade -- they have finished as a top 5 team exactly once. During that same time:

Alabama has finished in the top 5 9 times in the last decade
Clemson has finished in the top 5 6 times in the last decade
Ohio State has finished in the top 5 7 times in the last decade (2 other years they finished 6th)

Yes -- Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State are in a tier above LSU and everyone else. The fact this needs to be explained is mind blowing to me. 75% of the top 5 finishes in the last decade have been occupied by just 3 teams. Let that sink in. Then tell me how LSU is on their level with their single top 5 finish in the last decade.
Meh. Since the 2000s LSU is more elite than anyone in the B1G so is Florida, so is Georgia and an argument can be made for Auburn.

No one gives a shot how many games you win as long as you win titles. B1G ain’t exactly doing that.

LOL.. we aren't the under dog, We are TEXAS.. we will get trolled, hated and despised. It comes with the territory.. and it's the best. Fuck the Big12, fuck the SEC while I'm at it BUT, I rather be there than playing games in East Lansing, Champagne, WI, MN, etc

and yes the hardware is what it's all about, but sure i guess it's cool to have a lot of winning seasons with nothing to show for it.. congrats on reaching your ceiling.. must be the BiG way... SAD!
I wasn't even talking to you. Texas is irrelevant. Hell -- Maryland smacked around Texas. Kansas -- not in basketball, but football, smacked you around. I hope you sent a thank you card to Oklahoma for carrying the Big 12 the past decade plus and getting Texas an invite to be smacked around in a new conference.

And with 67 losses, and 0 Big 12 titles from 2010-2021 -- it is safe to say -- Texas isn't the first school I'd ask about winning seasons and hardware. But I'm sure moving from a weaker conference to the top conference is going to change your luck :pound:

Meh, most of the issues in the PAC were the result of the previous commissioner.

He insisted on promoting the Olympic sports over football. He insisted on launching the PAC network as an independent network instead of partnering with ESPN or Fox like the SEC and B1G Networks, then couldn't get all tv providers to carry it.

Even with the mistake of not partnering with a network wouldn't have been as bad except he had the network promoting the Olympic sports over football, basketball and even baseball. So the PAC gets to call itself the ''Conference of Champions'' because they win the sports no one cares about.

End result was paltry tv revenue. PAC schools get $30 million per year compared to $100 million for B1G schools. Hard to promote your conference when no one sees them play.

Yeah but just in general, the longer road trips can't help. Take Tennessee with our schedule.

We play the following Annually:

Vanderbilt
Kentucky
Georgia
South Carolina
Missouri
Florida
Alabama
SEC West
3 OOC home games
1 OOC home/away game

Compare that to USC who plays

Arizona
Arizona State
Colorado
Utah
UCLA
Possibly 4 teams from North (Oregon, Washington, Wash State, Oregon State, Cal or Stanford)

With the exceptions of UCLA and the Arizonas, I think all of Tennessee's opponents are closer geographically. Tennessee definitely doesn't have to travel near as far as USC for games with the exception of the one random SEC West opponent sometimes and the OOC game that is away. Missouri and Florida are kind of far as well but I think teams like Colorado and Utah are further out for USC.

CFB is a completely different game today than it was 5 years ago, but to fit your narrative, you want to go back 20+ years. Sounds like a great argument. May as well go back to the 90's and argue that Nebraska is elite too. Oh and Florida State too.

Who gives a damn about wins if you aren't getting the hardware? You think prospects are impressed with winning percentages? In my scenario, OU would have 8 more National Championship trophies to go with the 7 we already have. I would gladly take those trophies before I would be happy with beating a lot of other teams and walking away with nothing to show for it. I'd bet most schools would choose the same thing.
Most schools ain't. Good for you for feeling that way. Enjoy failure when you don't win the trophy that I bought. I prefer every game being important.

Nooooo…..Oregon and Wisconsin don’t play in THE S-E-C, S-E-C…….

Can you tell me with a straight face that a team like Clemson or Wisconsin plays a schedule like LSU?

LSU has to play Auburn, Florida, and Alabama annually, all teams that have also put together National Title teams, recruit against LSU, and bring in top talent.

Look at the NFL talent produced year-in-and-year out with LSU.

Example, take Clemson last year when they had a down year. They went 10-3 in the ACC. That same Clemson team is not beating Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Arkansas, and UCLA. I am not sure about Kentucky or Miss State but I give Clemson win there along with Auburn.

That puts Clemson at 7-5. That is how the SEC works, you just cannot hide your warts. Sure the great Clemson teams from 2016-2019 would still be in Playoffs playing LSU's schedule but they probably have more losses.

Wins/Losses are NOT everything. Under that logic, Louisiana-Lafayette was elite last year with 11-1 record.

I would have rather had been an L-L fan last year than an LSU fan. No trophy but lots of happy after games.

Well we can both agree that you are probably glad that you are NOT a Tennessee fan the last 15 years :pound:

LOL if my school didn't have a losing record for 20 plus years.. And had no championships or even a championship appearance... That's the bigger failure

😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

But I bet your school won't smack us around you homo

So you are only elite based on the last 5 years?

That seems more like a trend.

You measure your worth by how your football teams fairs in title games. How sad.
