USC and UCLA planning to leave for B10 by 2024!

The question I also have is what the heck happens to Oregon, Washington and Stanford if the Az Schools and Colorado/Utah bail to the B12 in 2024 and ND says let’s wait a few more years?
"Breaking: the Mountain West Conference has announced that the following teams will be joining for football starting in 2025..."

Hey!!! It could happen
For your sake, and for Bailore's sake, I hope the AZ schools at least come to the Big Xii. Would be a nice bonus to have Colorado and Utah. Travel for you guys would be even more difficult, but that would really solidify the conference. Heck, go ahead and reclaim the Southwest Conference name and logos

That is the only reason I want this to happen buddy. Because if the B12 doesn’t, the PAC will and schools like WVU and Bailore will be even further Grade A FUCKED then they are right now.

We will know in the next two weeks. I think AZ, ASU, Utah and Colorado make a deal fairly quickly.

Oregon and Washington will be a longer process but before the dust settles I wouldn’t be shocked if all the remaining PAC teams aren’t begging to join.

The thing that could throw a wrench in it is if they decide on a full merger. To me that isn’t as attract as it Carrie’s too much dead weight. You need to poach the biggest names you can right now and then everyone else folds.

Yea there really isn’t any value in schools like Oregon State and Washington State

Zero

They are probably worth half of what they would need to generate an invite. Instead of 30mm a year they are probably only worth 15mm at best.

bet they would take a lesser payout to stay though lol

I get that the biggest names available need to be had but the B12 needed to off the PAC12 or they would be The ones offed. And my program would be in the MAC after that If that would happen. I don’t want that.

It's not worth the hassle of scheduling. The numbers are getting high enough as it is and the return just isn't there so yeah I bet they would take a lesser payout but that never works out well in the end.

I don't think you could be sitting any better than you are right now. Worst case scenario is a full merger with the PAC (which includes you) or you cherry-pick. Personally, I would get aggressive and cherry-pick forcing the issue because Oregon (possibly Washington) is going to fight a merger as they are fighting to get in the B1G or SEC.

The Big 12 all of the sudden goes from an AAC look-alike to closing on the ACC for 3rd best conference and at least a temporary say in the playoff situation.

I hope you guys get Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State, Washington and Oregon because that changes everything. It doesn't replace OU and Texas but it gives you some big games to market:

Utah vs BYU
Washington vs Oregon
Arizona vs ASU

Agree with everything except worst case scenario. Worst case scenario (for WVU) is the PAC takes 6 B12 scraps and we are on our own begging the ACC (which will never happen as long as UNC is there).

You guys have the position of strength with a new commish coming on. No way Bowlsby is going to concede the conference as his last legacy and new guy isn’t going to throw away his job. The PAC just lost the LA market and 200mm of value. Trust me the Arizona schools have flirted with this before and they will jump and the dominoes will fall.

I am hearing Notre Dame shot down B1G, that might throw a wrench into everything.

Same. They have no incentive as of yet to move. So it really puts a halt on everything until we get closer to end of ACC GOR.

By no means do I expect any ACC schools to leave for a bit longer yet (and currentlybthe conference is stable for now), and while GOR is doing EXACTLY what it was put in place to do, we get stuff like this...

If Notre Dame moves or even keeps relationship with ACC, that could slow down the collapse of ACC (ACC still needs to solve its bad TV deal).

The B1G could put more pressure on Notre Dame by threatening to end Notre Dame-USC series.
