USC is playing this Saturday at 9AM

Yes, let’s compare walking to a class to tackling a 200 pound running back.

Go back on your little hiatus or hike or whatever you did when you weren’t being a condescending cocksucker here.
YOU DONT KNOW THAT
Is everything ok at home, man? You seem to be really worked up over an unpopular opinion. It’s ok to not be ok, especially right now in this fucked up world.

No, the potential for injury is NOT why we don't see games played at 8am.
I mean we have a lot of professional sports on TV being played at 8-9am but only college football isn’t played at that time. Must be for player safety.

I disagree, I think time of day could. Exactly why we don’t see teams playing at 8am weekly Among other reasons too. That’s what I’m saying.
which scientific medical journal was your speculative opinion piece published in?

This one New Year’s Day in Denver, I had bourbon with my steak and eggs while watching the bowl game that kicked off at 11am ET.

Well, football players are typically pretty fragile.

Remember all those injuries in Ireland a few years ago? because that game would have been played at like 730 am est. pretty sure everyone walked out on crutches.

The death toll was in the dozens

Trying to twist the knife huh?

An opinion on an opinion.

That’s cute

you dont know that it does. in fact there is no evidence to even suggest that it might.
No evidence ethier way. Suggesting it’s not possible is an overreach.

Based on common sense of people need time to wake and it’s never been played at 9am before. What’s yours based on?

Why don’t we see games at 8am?

Im not saying it’s the only reason but it’s certainly a reason.

Heh. This time a year ago it sounded like bullshit. In 2020 let's try it.

As a fan that is hard to wrap my head around. A 9 AM kick, unless you are an alkie you aren't pre-gaming much. Tailgate is breakfast which isn't bad. Plus post game it's noon, and you have the rest of the day to drink, eat and watch football. This could make for a fun and unique Tailgate experience.

As someone in CST I'm all about Pac 12 games at a decent hour. I don't mind the 10PM Pac game but being honest by the time the late game comes on I'm a combination of being old and in the bag enough that I'm lucky to make halftime before I need to go to bed. 20 year old me would have enjoyed it, but 20 year old me was pretending to be 25 year old me at the bars by then. 40 year old me needs his sleep.

We don't see games at 8 am because of money. That is the overriding reason. It's not injuries or any other bullshit. People need to have time to get up and get some shit done before heading to or watching the game.

Have you ever posted here on a Saturday morning and seen posters talking about yardwork and errands and shit they need to get done before the games start?

If you have, that's why games don't start at 8 am. Lower attendance and lower viewership.

An increased chance of injury is not any consideration at all. As long as the have the same amount of time to get properly warmed up before the game starts, the time that the game starts doesn't matter.

In short...No, injuries are NOT any part of the reason we don't have games at 8am.

Oh, and they're not being asked to play at 8am. They're being asked to play at 9am.

Playing at 8am would be damn near suicidal. :heh:

One thing about being in California, the only thing it changes for me is that I'll be having my biscuits and gravy and Bloody Mary's while watching USC instead of having them while I watch games from other regions.
