GAME Utah @ UCLA 3:30pm ET FOX

Charbenet is too 💪

Almost halftime.

So far, it's the kind of game I was hoping for. Just need UCLA to lose a close one.

We get Utah next week and I want them beat up and happy they escaped...not pissed that they lost and desperate to avoid a 3rd loss.

Still, to have a mostly empty stadium is embarrassing for a major program. USC has similar problems but they are drawing respectable crowds. I think USC is also the elephant in the room as well.
it's logistics man.

What are you comparing it to, getting to the stadium in Knoxville, Tuscaloosa, Athens?

This is LA ffs, travel there is a massive undertaking unlike anything seen in the US outside of NY and Chicago.

Wow - that's hard to pull that kick that far left.

This is one reason why I am surprised San Diego State isn't in the Pac12. There isn't anyone from San Diego and that opens another city/market historically.

Granted, I see your point that it is in a difficult part of town and UCLA is an urban team. I think USC steals a lot of their fans too.

Dayum college kickers…

USC's issue, and it's more a Southern California issue, is that people aren't going to pay to watch a team lose. There are 2 NFL teams, 2 NBA teams, 2 MLB teams, 2 NHL teams and 2 major universities all trying to get people to attend their games. That's not including all of the amusement parks or things like the beach and mountains.

Can't suck and expect folks to pay to watch it.

Understood but my post was pointing out more how USC probably takes UCLA's crowd. You have two teams in the same city and one is more historically successful and is higher ranked right now.

There's a reason that when you ask someone in SoCal about how far away something is, the response will be how long it takes to get there, not how many miles away it is.

If people based travel in SoCal on miles rather than time, no one would be on time for anything. lol

It's the reverse for basketball. USC's basketball team has actually been pretty good and fun to watch ever since they hired Enfield and they still struggle a bit to fill the arena.

A lot of the "t-shirt fans" have 2 t-shirts. One for USC football and one for UCLA basketball. lol

I actually saw USC Basketball when they were ranked in top ten play at Nashville against Vanderbilt. My close friend offered me tickets to that game.

Edit: They won in a close matchup. Difference was USC was really good shooting outside in that game.

I did not expect UCLA to be beating Utah like this.

Looking good and up, 21-10.

I've always wondered that about SDSU as well. San Diego is a great city and has pretty much perfect weather year-round. They have a decent talent pool and could recruit SoCal as well. They usually have a decent team too.

Reggie Bush is from San Diego. Imagine how different things might be if SDSU was in the PAC and he decided to stay even closer to home. lol

I’m a little shocked how much success UCLa is having on offense. This is a good Utah defense
