Victory Day Thursday

Please tell me you have seen "Team America"...
I have. My post was in reference to my signature, which HammerDown gave me years ago when he reinstated me after a banning. He also made it so I couldn't change it, and I got used to it, so now even though I could change it, I don't.

so is NBC going to add Chicago Pope to the Chicago TV block?

I don't have the patience for baseball. Its the only sport my son is not allowed to play

Played it most of my life growing up

Baseball has a lot of practices and games, but it's not near as bad as being the parent of a wrestler.

Going to their baseball games you get to watch them in action the entire game.
Going to their wrestling matches you have to sit for long periods waiting for them to get their next opponent, of which you've no idea when that will be. Could be an hour or more.
You're stuck.

I was silently thankful when my boy told me he wouldn't be wrestling anymore to focus on football and basketball.
Trying to maintain a weight limit for wrestling fucked with football.

Yeah, and why won't he let his son find out who he is?

I think soccer and basketball are about as gay as sports can get, but I let -- and encouraged to a degree -- my son try them both.
Soccer wasn’t gay when I played it in the 1960s. Flopping wasn’t the practiced art that it is today.

Shit, they start the kids with tackle in 3rd grade in our district.

It's actually pretty fun to watch because their necks aren't fully strong enough to hold the helmets so they look like bobbleheads running around the field.

Slinkette II will be cheering for the 3rd graders next year, so I'm looking forward to that.
I played Pop Warner football at eight years old. I broke my left forearm in practice and never got to play in a game. My father said that was it for me and football, so I played soccer.

It's easy to differentiate future talent when watching Pop Warner level tackle football. Some are more aggressive than the others, some are faster, some are stronger. They really stand out at the elementary level.

It's obvious which guys you'll eventually see starting early on the high school varsity team.
