I don't know about that.

USC sits smack dab in the middle of one of the richest recruiting grounds in the country, especially for the skill positions. Because of that and USC's history, there are a certain number of high end recruits in the area that will always pick USC. But as far as developing players, that didn't happen, especially on the O and D lines.

Add to that the lack of discipline and accountability and he's a coach who likely does well at a G5 program or maybe even a low level P5 program, but not so much for bigger programs with higher expectations.

You're probably right.

I will say I think he is in the right spot for him at Georgia Southern.

Yep. I'd hire him as an OC at a bigger school in a heartbeat and if you're a program that has recently fired their HC...he's a good interim coach because the players tend to love the guy and he acts like an adult.

But he was given every opportunity and resource at USC and couldn't adjust. It's too bad too because he's one of the most likeable coaches in cfb. Part of the reason he kept getting chances at USC is because everyone genuinely liked him and wanted him to succeed.
