You are right that EIU is a good lower tier school, they should be a borderline top 20 team.....But.....

Eastern Illinois has a weakness at OL and the Illinois DL is pretty good.....this will set the tone of that particular game.

Most games are won and lost in the trenches.....Colorado had a bad OL and DL and that was their season in Deion's rookie campaign.
 
EIU might cover but that is not saying much since Illinois is favored by almost 28 points.
 
How about a fun fact, at least to me, about college football to commemorate CFB Thursday?

The state of pennsylvania has more college football teams than the state of Texas. And only 1 less than California. Could have given me 20 guesses and I wouldn't have guessed that PA has more CFB schools than Texas.

PissScat-away isn’t a real destination town. Also, they don’t seem to have many orphans judging by the amount of empty seats. Howard’s QB has thrown more TDs thus far.

When I was watching at first I thought their QB was Jesse Scroggins, who I remembered being a really highly rated QB prospect coming out of HS. Then I realized he graduated HS in 2010 and is now 32 years old. :doh:

Interesting. I'm assuming this is an all levels number. Still surprises me. I thought Cali had a lot of JCs that play football. We really don't have that many JCs that play football in Texas. Kilgore, Navarro, Tyler, Trinity, Blinn, Cisco..... (We have a lot of JCs that play basketball.)

I guessing Penn has a lot of DII, DIII, NAIA, etc.
