Washington HC Jimmy Lake Expected to be Fired Today

No idea.

What are you right about? They’re honoring his contact, which was the correct move if they ever want to hire another coach.
Then why suspend him? It is stupid to do that in the first place if thats not a fireable offense.

And just so we’re clear, I see him just being a tough football coach when he did that (slap the kid). I don’t believe he should have even been suspended. But suspending Him for it then firing him while still honoring the contract fits that narrative.

Then why even suspend him?

You know I’m right btw
Probably to buy some time and see how they are gonna go about it, is my guess. The headline of the front page of the Seattle times today was a story about a locker room incident of him allegedly throwing a kid into a locker a couple years ago when he was the DC. I guess they just didn’t want the hassle of trying to fire him with cause, but he clearly wasn’t gonna be able to move forward here, he lost the fans and boosters long ago, now they’re digging up misconduct incidents after his sideline meltdown.

I’m just glad they made the move now and didn’t wait until the end of the season.

Coaches used to get 3 or 4 seasons to show what they can do. Nowadays you're lucky to get 2 full seasons....
He took over a program he was the defensive coordinator of. It’s not like he needed to bring in his own guys and shift the culture. His big talk was there’s be no drop off and they’re gonna be more aggressive. The reality is there was a huge drop off and recruiting tanked. He wasn’t in a “you get three years to turn it around” situation.

I don't think it would take much convincing honestly.

Same and IMO would be a great move for both parties
I wasn’t thrilled about the idea at first, but he knows the program, knows the recruiting grounds, has potential… isn’t a sexy hire, but I’m on board with it after letting the idea process.

He didn't even get a full season....he got 4 games last season and 10 games this season....

LOL.

And it was all bad… Like, extremely bad… There was no moving forward with him.

On top of the record and just every aspect of the on the field play being terrible, he’s embarrassing. He tried to take take a rivalry week shot at Oregon’s academics, sounded like a dumbass in how he said it, and it’s never a good move to bring that kind of thing up regarding conference member schools. He’s said and done a lot of dumb shit…

Seems like more and more stuff is coming out, there could be cause. But to each university their own.

You think Peterson would come back? He has to be getting bored on tv.

I doubt it. He’s still working with the university, he’s putting together some NIL program that’s supposed to be a big deal. I think he meant it when he said he’s done with coaching. At least for now.

Ohh I don’t see him going anywhere else. But I wouldn’t be shocked if he said yes, even for a short time. But then again is that really worth it if he only stays 2 years? I don’t know.

The problem is he is likely still advising them on their next search and I don't really want his guys. They are good followers not leaders.

I guess that's where LR can go when he gets fired.

I don’t know. If he can help land a Kellen Moore I’m down.

I was never fond of OKG as it was. If you want to go toe to toe with thugs you need to be able to get down and dirty right along with them.
