Washington HC Jimmy Lake Expected to be Fired Today

I think everyone saw this coming no doubt.
But I wonder if Washington has put out feelers already, about the replacement.

Who would that be

I must be out of the loop. I heard he scolded a kid or something, what the fuck did he do worth firing?

I mean sure, they haven't been that good, but it is only the dudes 2nd year.

All the off the field stuff has been discussed pretty extensively. Start with this thread, the UW/oregon game thread, the UW thread in the conference boards if you want to catch up.

Regarding hasn’t been that good and it only being his second year… both aren’t really correct. They’ve been extremely bad, and he took over a team after being part of the program for years, which included two years as DC, and a handful more as co-DC. He doesn’t get the grace period to rebuild or get “his guys.” Especially when they’re losing to Montana and showing absolutely no improvement throughout the year. And he’s done nothing but tank recruiting.

That paired with the other stuff (also factor in everything he has done and said has been cringe level embarrassing, which no doubt got the attention of admin), there was no way he could come back next year.

Taking too long to do something about his horrible choice in OC, his inability to get his coaches to get their kids attentions and move them as a team, and his in-game coaching decisions all played roles in this firing.
Teams lose and new coaches can stumble, but he literally didn't have one thing going for him that said he just needs more time.

It's strange to see them act so quickly on Lake while giving Hopkins more time after back to back terrible seasons.
Especially odd in a city like Seattle that Lake is fine being let go but Hopkins can stay.

Washington fans had a field day when Oregon hired Cristobal

"lol 27-47 @ FIU"

pretty funny looking back on it

They were really convinced Mario Cristobal was going to suck. Now he's 3-0 against UW and is in pursuit of his 3rd straight PAC 12 Championship.

Cristobal’s as surprised as anyone he hasn’t sucked. Just look at the greasy fuck, what were they thinking?

The coaching search this year is going to be weird. Lots of big names on lists last year have kinda fizzled out this year. Matt Campbell was #1 on most people's lists last year, but after Iowa State's season this year his stock has gone down considerably. USC and James Franklin were having some communications, and now who would want Franklin after PSU's season? Not a lot of big name "sure thing" hires right now.

A timid administration.

I mean… seriously about who would want Franklin though? I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic…

I think he said nobody wants Franklin anymore
