They can't get worse, so they will get better. What I HOPE is that they get better at A&M.
I remember Oklahoma fans stating their players would obviously be tougher under Venables but they are actually worse. You are assuming Jimbo can develop them and I’m not sure if he is capable of that.

There is already skill on the DL. Now just need the size that comes with being 19 or 20 and a full season and a half of college nutrition and weight programs.

@OlyDuck bookmark this one so when their D-line sucks next year you can call him out on it.

I’ll be sitting over here with my popcorn.

This is a serious question. What is going on with tackling and Texas teams? It is like they deem it optional once they get on campus in the state of Texas. I know it can't be the players from the state, as many recruits from the state of Texas go on and are great at tackling at schools outside the state.

It is so bizarre. I'd think schools like Texas, Texas A&M, etc. would have unreal defenses with all the talent they have in state.
Good question. Even though it was said "tongue in cheek", I really do think 7 on 7 has played a part in it. It is a big deal here. The upside is that it is a good thing for developing QBs, WRs and DBs. The DBs learn to cover well but they just touch 'em and their down in 7 on 7. THen they carry that over into the fall and don't get 'em to the ground.

The offenses are designed to make the defense tackle in space and it can make defensive players look silly if they can't.

Even though Texas is perceived as great recruiting grounds, we really aren't producing a lot of DLs. Or at least as many as perceived. Yeah there are obviously Von Miller, Miles Garrett, Mario Edwards Jr, etc. But there really isn't that many of them.

A&M has put quite a few players into the NFL lately. Hell, Sumlin inherited a stocked cupboard with NFL offensive line talent from Sherman.

Texas hasn't put many in the NFL lately at all.

A&M's defense hasn't been the problem for the most part IMO. It is the other side of the ball that hasn't been very good at all. JMO.

As soon as I saw King warming up, I knew we had lost on Saturday.

Yeah, that wasn't good. But I think it goes back further than that. Even the Mond years weren't good offensively IMO. It has just seemed the offense consistently puts the onus on the defense. Granted, I haven't watched every game. The ones I have watched seemed that way.

Kind the complete opposite of the Texas Tech teams that put all the pressure on Mahomes and the offense to score every stinking possession. But that's all just my opinion from what I've seen.

I see the same thing from TCU's defense this year. Expect their offense to bail them out all the time. Which is why I think they lose to Texas and Baylor. Got to catch up with them at some point.

Mond was a big bag of MEH for sure. Jimbo's line it up and run north to south style of play also is a big bag of MEH. Haven't had an explosive offense since Coach Bro, sad to say. Mond came in as a running QB. King came in as a running QB. Both turned into pocket passers. Jimbo so badly wants a pro style offense but doesn't have the OL this year or the WR's. Good god Moose Muhammed is a shitty WR and we count him as our #2. :L

Wouldn't even see the field on any top 25 team.

There's going to be a few

What is going on in the Pac12 tonight? Arizona 14 UCLA 0.

Folks sometimes we are presented a gift on the unlikeliest of days! Yesterday was certainly one of them! Oregon destroys Colorado just as everyone predicted, but WOW Saturday afternoon and Saturday night was WONDERFUL. Seriously, this weekend has been a GIFT for college football and it can't set up Oregon's path to the College Football Playoff any better. I. Am. JAZZED.

It's simple, Ducks win out and they are in the playoffs! I love love love love those chances! Oregon has heisman candidate and potential winner in Bo Nix leading the way and this is the rest of the path, THIS is how wonderful this weekend turned out to be to set up the Ducks resume. Georgia beats Tennessee, LSU beats Alabama, knocking the Tide out. ND beats Clemson (lol), good bye Bama and Clemson! The already #8 Ducks clearly move up.

Now, how does Oregon's resume sit? Well, Washington barely beats a ranked Oregon State team, likely putting the fuskies in the top 25 for this weeks game at Oregon. Best part, watching that fusky and rodent game, neither team striked me as capable of beating Oregon and fuskies won't beat Oregon at Autzen.

Then the following week is likely a top 12 ranked Utah team coming to Autzen. The Utes get Stanford this week and I doubt they lose, probably win something like a boring 28-17 type of game. So the Utes will come to Eugene as a top 12, potentially top 10 team. Oregon beats Utah, this has revenge game written all over it and no better time for such a game then when you're aiming for a CFP spot.

Then comes Oregon State. By the time this game rolls around the rodents should be back in the top 25 with wins over CAL and ASU. Giving Oregon 3 straight top 25 wins. And did I mention? Oregon State is not that impressive. They are seriously the little brother in this match up, they got grit and fight hard, but silly to think they overcome Oregon. Game turns out similar to last years, I'd almost say identical to last years game.

So after 3 straight top 25 wins, the Ducks head to the PAC-12 title game to take on either a top 25 ranked USC team or a rematch vs a top 25 UCLA team. USC has ZERO defense and UCLA, well we exposed UCLA. Either way, either opponent, Oregon wins and thus propelling them to the College Football Playoff.

The glorious thing about this is, the rankings will be there from the opponents, but Oregon is vastly superior in their remaining games. With heisman candidate Bo Nix leading the way, this Oregon offense, which is Chip Kelly Oregonesque type offense, a stout red zone defense, I don't see Oregon losing any of these games and they will get credit for beating top 25 teams on a weekly basis for the rest of the month.

I can't wait!!!! LOVE COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!!!!!!
