We skeered ...

its sucking the enjoyment out of the sport for me

idgaf about Nebraska/Iowa games. I'd rather watch Nebraska vs ANY member of the original Big 12 north. That doesn't even include Oklahoma.
It’s just fucking annoying. Who gets excited to see Missouri play anyone in the SEC?

There ain’t no doubt about it, the amount of games I watch that don’t feature UGA has steadily went down every year

Well, looks like UT Martin, Chattanooga, or TN Tech will be getting a big payday now.

Don’t think the conference should be making directives like that unless OU and Texas are coming sooner than we thought.

Personally, I wouldn’t have minded the no return game. I could have used that to shit post OU fans down the line

This is not in any way unusual. Every time we have had expansion, OOC schedules had to be adjusted. There will be more of this. When the SEC goes to 9 IC games in 2025-ish, that means we have 1 fewer OOC slots. In some years that would leave us with GaTech (can't drop), and then teams like UCLA/Louisville (2026), FSU/Louisville (2027), Clemson/tOSU (2030), Clemson/NCState (2033). We will play Tech and one tough OOC, but I doubt we would play 2 tough OOC games.

Why 2023?

TX/OU aren't going to the SEC until 2025.
As Impotent pointed out, the return game was like 8 years later. We wouldn't play a game away where we don't get a return. Money says you pick up a one-off home game. I wish we would have played them at a neutral site.

For UGA you have to remember that we always play one neutral game each year - UF at the WLOCP in Jax. That means we have to get an extra home game where we can.

I'd be fine with swapping GT and SCar. GT used to have some good rivalries in the SEC, especially with TN and Auburn.
Bama and GT have some old hate between them, hell they are even in the fight song.

"Send the yellow jackets to a watery grave'.

Google, 'Bear Bryant and GT.'

Most neutral site games are just boring & lame af. Just seems dumb and pointless imo.

It’s always the same half dozen or so NFL stadiums anyway: Cowboys, Cardinals, INDY, HOU, MIA, ATL, NOR, CAR, etc. Almost all of which are domed/indoors.

So are my horns good for Tuscaloosa next year with Quinn returning for vengeance??

I'm traveling there for that game too

That's because you don't get invited Mr. Jelly.

make sure you have all your shots up to date.

WITH PLEASURE

South Carolina should have never left the ACC. That could have been US instead of Clemson, winning all those conference titles against a bunch of basketball schools, and playing for Nattys.

But now, we like the money too much
Cheers to Hu. He's honest. :beer2: How about the rest of you?

I'm an old traditionalist, but I've never been a fan of the RRSO and WLOCP. While there is a lot of hype around both, I think it deprives players of the experience playing at their rivals home stadium. I mean the Sooners get to visit Lubbock every other year but not Austin. WTH? Same with Texas. They get the experience of playing in Manhattan, KS but not Norman. JMO.

They also could have done like the ACC has done, and have non-conference games between member schools.

There are a lot of UGA fans who want the UF game to go to a home and away format. Some are saying rotate - Jax, Atlanta, home, away. Some feel there is a home field advantage for UF in that Jax is an hour from Gainesville, 5 hours from Athens. I've never seen that, to be honest. Crowd is always 50/50.

Smart wants it home and away as he thinks it gives up a recruiting weekend.

It's a money thing ... why go to OU where they get the gate, and not get a guaranteed return game that we will get anyway now. I hate it ... I'd rather play them. Was looking forward to the trip.
