Had a landline at the old banking gig not too long ago. That was in 2018 but mostly internal when email didn't convey the message. Did have some for customer calling.

i'm more surprised landlines have even made it out your way.Had a landline at the old banking gig not too long ago. That was in 2018 but mostly internal when email didn't convey the message. Did have some for customer calling.
I didn't have one for a few years, when I had found some cheap double plays and had like 2 work cell phones (lol). We got one back when the employee deal with FiOS was cheaper to have a landline than anything resembling good internet by itself was.
I could explore only getting internet, but wifey likes the stuff we're getting through Comcast right now and I'm not sure how much we'd use if we kicked to full streaming while I'm full-time WFH. And, since Comcast has rolled out data caps, I'm not sure it's a discussion I feel like having at the moment.
YupRemember party lines?
Phones have made it. Internet has been an issue though. Hell Amish have been all over the cell phones to use for their "businesses". Service isn't the greatest in some areas though.i'm more surprised landlines have even made it out your way.
You can do anything if you try Dicki didn't know you could make a 10 minute long gif.

I think the data cap is only on internet/streaming, but the phone gets limited use in the first place, so I doubt we'd ever use it enough to make us stress the cap. We'll see what happens as more and more stuff goes streaming, but we haven't hit 500GB yet, and they've pushed data caps back to 2022 in the Northeast for meow. Verizon was apparently able to make some hay on Comcast implementing data caps mid-WFH/SFH.we considered getting one again after my daughter was born, but by the time she was able to understand 911, she was proficient enough with a cell phone to make it happen.
I'd hope if you're paying for phone service through comcast that they exempt VOIP traffic from their cap.
My first dormatory had one public phone on the floor, in the middle of the hallway.i had a landline in college for a bit, I never used it because I had a cellphone.
After few months of having to pay long distance bill because none of my roommates did, I cancelled long distance and people had to buy calling cards
few months later, i cancelled phone all together. 2 roommates w/o cellphones complained, I said they could get a phone on their own, but I was out
that was 1999-2001. By my super senior year (2002-2003) landlines at college houses were almost extinct and everyone had cell phones
10 minutes... pfft

just like old time movies where they show kids in dormsMy first dormatory had one public phone on the floor, in the middle of the hallway.
When the phone rang in the middle of the night the RA had to get up and answer it, then shuffle over to one of our rooms. Wasn't usually good news. That's how I lost my first roommate...his gramps died and he had to go back to the ranch in Idaho.just like old time movies where they show kids in dorms
