Wednesday “National Landline Telephone Day” Thread

you're missing out on a fun experience

Duluth to St Paul station (or is it minneapolis, either way) was about 5 hours. I think we made 3 stops on way to pick up other people.
I can't imagine it is that much different than the Megabus. Except, if you can imagine, probably better clientele. At least 3 of the people on the Megabus stole shit from the gas station we stopped at for a mid-trip break. Very odd experience.

I've taken Amtrak many times back and forth to ND. That isn't too bad.

Yes, but I always paid cash. My HS buddy had a GF back home, so he traveled home far more often than I did, so wasn't a big deal to get a ride. I think I gave $10 each time, never asked to borrow his car.

my 2nd freshman roommate had a plymouth wagon for running around duluth, I gave him beer money here and there, but I only tagged along if he was already going somewhere

I know one time my HS buddy previously mentioned drove a stranger from billboard in dorms home, it was fine, but he decided it wasn't worth the $10

I made him pick up the girl I had a crush on once who shortly after was my GF on our way back to Campus. Her HS BF dropped her off where we met up to pick her up, little did he know she was going to dump him soon and end up with me

Yeah, my one experience on the train wasn't as bad as my Greyhound trip. I liked not being stuck to the chair, and I think at that point I was old enough to grab a beer in the cafe car of the train.

Empire Builder FTW.

I don't think you know what ghosting is
i do

not sure why I said ghosting, creep on her social media page since we're not friends on social media.

I didn't just stop communicating with her. She dumped me, it was devastating to 19 year old me

Douche doesn't get that. All of his relationships are superficial and dedicated to self-gratification

Somebody tell @fknhippie that I cut down two 20' pine trees this last weekend.

Murray is slowly regaining energy, which is fine, but he still needs to be restricted in movement so making more challenging to get through the day

making plans for tourney.

Good ol' landline. I remember her well. I was on her for hours.

A bit cheaper than everybody owning their own cell phone.

We still have a land line. And at work too.

My Amtrak rides to and from ND are always evening to morning. So I pack 2 or 3 beers, download a couple movies and recline back in the seat. Sleep most of the way.

Sounds a bit like my NJ Transit train rides home, way back when I went to an office in Manhattan.
