Week 1 LOLs

Yeah... MY thoughts exactly. IF they can't get by The TREES, it's likely gonna be a long, LONG season...

:pop2::martini:

I am fairly confident that you guys will beat Stanford.

I had you guys at 8-4 or 9-3. However, 10-2 or better is possible.

The games to watch out for are:

@ Oregon State
@ Utah
UCLA
Notre Dame

Arizona looked surprisingly good this past weekend. I could see that @ Arizona game being tricky. (Either Arizona is a lot better or San Diego State is very bad now).

For some reason, SC "juju" goes bad when playing Stanford and OreSt over the years, even back during the Pete Carroll days. Scrappy teams to watch out for... :tsk:

Utah is usually a problem and UCLA is "cross-town" rival type of game.

ND... well, SC is in a long funk playing them in recent years. So yeah... the Domers will be another "tough nut" to crack this year.

Oregon State's win over Boise State was impressive and they seem to be up and coming again after being down for some time.

Overall thoughts on Pac12 is that it isn't as bad as people think.

Arizona, UCLA, USC, Oregon State, and Washington all showed signs of life yesterday that they could be competitive teams.

Colorado looked like trash so that was a black mark.

Oregon is definitely a black mark but it really shouldn't have been a surprise. Oregon was overrated coming into the season. They went 10-4 last year but they lost talent and coaching from that team. Expecting a breakout year was unfair. People keep talking about their schedule but they still have to play tough rivals in the North, it won't be an easy road for them. The expectations were unrealistic. I think Dan Lanning could be good in the long run but that opening game was just a trap game.

Utah had a similar situation as Oregon. Florida was a big question mark (similar to LSU and Auburn this year as well). Florida won the SEC East and 10 games just two seasons ago so they have talent. The Swamp is NOT an easy place to play, especially for a cross-trip game. The game could have gone either way. I think people are writing Utah off which is a mistake.

Pac12 isn't as bad as people think. The big headache for Pac12 will be dealing with the offseason news of UCLA and USC leaving. Even though it is kind of irrelevant to the 2022 season, it will be a black cloud hanging over the league all season including the potential to get teams in playoffs. I think that is only adding to the poor perception of Pac12.

Tennessee has a black cloud over us based on the past 15 years that we are trying to escape as well. It is going to take a big win over Alabama, Florida, or Georgia to break that cloud (perhaps even an SEC East Division Title).

LSU special teams take the top spot this week.

FSU fumbling a pitch play at the goal line to give LSU a chance would top the list, but LSU special teams made it not even matter.

I agree. It really looked like both teams were playing "Here, you take it and win. Nah, here, you can have it back."

Have we LOL'd at UNC and App State defenses. 60+ points each? And it wasn't like there was Baker Mayfield and Patrick Mahomes shooting it out like a few years ago. Geeeezz.
