Love Baker but I was hoping for the bad Baker yesterday. Instead I was subject to him throwing dimes all day and torching my Redskins. Alas there is always next weekHoping for a Tampa Bay win. My wife's sister's husband obsessed with the Redskins. Flew to game from Maryland. We all rooting for a Redskins loss here after him buying tickets and airline and hotel tickets for this. Baker Mayfield fan right now.
Watson was beat to hell by the end of that game. Most of his sucking was due to the Dallas D whipping his ass. He was forced into a lot of terrible throws, not sure why there weren't more 1st quarter series where they just lined up and ran the ball.Browns offense looks even worse than last year if that's even possible. Dallas' defense probably had something to do with that, but I couldn't help but think how big a mistake deciding to pass up on any preseason game reps for Watson when he hasn't played much at all in the past 3 years (and they're installing a new offensive system).
Then again, the whole Watson thing in general seems to be a gigantic mistake.

Your defense can, and will, win games. But not if they have to be out there for as much as they were.New offense. They used to be the kings of the jumbo package and most snaps were under center. Lots of counters and play action. Not terribly dissimilar to San Fran's offense.
Now, they're moving to a "QB friendly" system that is largely spread and out of the shotgun. The concept made me immediately think of "Romo friendly". I don't know how well they can run out of that setup, especially if they can't threaten in the passing game.
He was harassed a lot, but still had some throws he just flat out missed. The one crossing route he underthrew and was quickly reviewed as incomplete springs to mind. That pass has to be made. Drops didn't help, and missing both tackles and RB1 still hurts too, but he looked like QB who hasn't played much in years.
Maybe they will get better as the weeks roll on, but man was that a stark wakeup call.
I saw a caption that read....LOL, but to be fair how many first week QB's lose the game for their team trying to do too much. I don't think Caleb had any INT's which let his team win.
